Most of the people buy organic food to avoid consumption of artificial chemicals. These artificial chemicals may not only harm our body but also to the environment in various ways. For instance, the fertilizers used to produce that can kill the aquatic life when flows into the water bodies. Also, consuming organic food can reduce exposure to pesticide residues and antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Organic foods can be significantly more experience than conventionally grown food. However, consumers should not always presume that cost will be always more, out of different categories of organic food items, some of them can be on slightly costlier while most of them fall in like 40%-50% higher priced, sometimes that are of the same price or cheaper than conventional ones. However, people shouldn’t be more concerned about prices, if it’s the question about health.

There is some evidence suggesting that organic food can be healthier, however, that is not the case always. For example, studies have shown that food with a higher content of antioxidants can help protect cells from damage. It can also benefit the growth, reproduction, and immune system in our body.

Several countries including the USA have set up an organic certification. This means that a farmer or food producer has to meet certain government standards to be recognized as organic. If a food contains less than 70% organic ingredients, it cannot be labeled as organic. Similar standards have been set-up in countries like Europe, Canada, and India.
